Payroll Specialist

Location: St. Petersburg, 33702 – This position is onsite
WFH option once a perm employee on Monday and Friday if you have a designated workspace

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Type: Contract to hire

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST

Quantity: 2-3 open

Job description:

1. Process payroll by entering hours, new hires, rehires, deductions, and other wage-related items while meeting client payroll deadlines.
2. Maintain accurate electronic employee records, including new hire documentation, employee changes, and terminations.
3. Troubleshoot payroll errors and resolve issues affecting payroll processing and federal, state, and local tax payments.
4. Communicate payroll totals and funding requirements to clients while providing responsive customer service and escalating complex issues as needed.
5. Assist clients with payroll system setup, payroll processing, website functionality, standard reporting, and custom report needs.

Nice to have:

• PEO payroll processing
• Associate’s Degree

Requirements:

• At least three (3) years of accounting experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Background check required
• Education verification required
