Pay: $21.00 per hour

Type: Contract to hire

Schedule: Schedule: M-Th 8a-5:30p (30 min unpaid lunch); F 8:30a-12:30p
Extended hours (bi-monthly rotating schedule; employees will know in advance if they are on the schedule): Tu or W 10a-8p (30 min unpaid lunch); Sat 8:30a-12:30p (they do not work the Friday prior)

Job description:

1. Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming patients, managing check-in/check-out, scheduling appointments, and handling front desk communications (phones, paperwork, and inquiries) with professionalism and confidentiality.
2. Collect, process, and reconcile patient payments (co-pays, deductibles, balances) while accurately explaining billing policies, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities.
3. Verify and update patient insurance information and eligibility, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
4. Utilize EMR systems to maintain accurate patient records, complete assigned tasks (e.g., encounters, documentation), and support administrative functions including medical records and interdepartmental coordination.
5. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Revenue Cycle Management) to resolve discrepancies, support patient needs, uphold organizational values, and deliver a high-quality patient experience.

Requirements:

• Must have recent related experience in a medical office
• Must have experience with EMR
• Medical terminology knowledge required
• Must be MS Office proficient
• High school diploma or equivalent required
