Customer Care Representative

About the Company: Large independent energy retailer located in Pinellas Park is seeking highly qualified Customer Service Representatives to add to their team! This is an excellent opportunity with a well established and growing company! The ideal candidate will be Customer Service oriented with the ability to independently problem solve!

Type: Contract to hire: Eligible for permanent employment by the company after contract period

Schedule: Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:00am - 8:00pm


$12.00 per hour starting

$13.00 per hour after 30 days

$14.00 per hour after contract period (about 3 months)

Job Description:

  • Receive inbound calls from current customers, place outbound calls to prospects
  • Use decision-support computer software programs to respond to common customer work/service order inquiries and requests
  • Ensure customers understand product information, answer customer questions and concerns
  • Prepare complete and accurate work and update customer file
  • Communicate effectively with individuals/teams in the program to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests
  • Contribute ideas on ways to resolve problems to better serve the customer and/or improve productivity
  • Place follow-up calls to sales leads and persuade potential customers to complete and submit an application.
  • Assist customers with any technical issues experienced with website and escalate any issues to management appropriately
  • Perform basic account maintenance activities
  • Meet Quality Assurance Requirements and other key performance metrics


  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
  • Must possess and be able to demonstrate strong influencing and closing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly, type 30+ WPM
  • Ability to solve practical problems encountered when working with customers.
  • Ability to use multiple computer applications (i.e. database, word-processing) and ACD telephone system.
  • Keenness and flexibility to work extended hours when needed
