HR Manager

Job Description:  This position is a key functional leader in the HR Department providing assistance to other team members and coordinating strategic initiatives.  This role is responsible for managing the benefit programs and coordinating with accounting on payroll activities.  This role will also coordinate with the recruiters to onboard new talent as well as employee training and development. 

  • Manage employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits & assist with plan design and maintain effective working relationships with brokers 
  • Assists with Benefit program design including medical, health, 401k and the evaluation on new programs. 
  • Plans and conduct educational programs on benefit programs, wellness and other programs of benefit to employees 
  • Manages HRIS (Paylocity) system and is responsible for reporting, maintenance and administration related to HR data.
  • Manages HR side of payroll, ensuring transactions are properly and accurately recorded and communicated to Accounting 
  • Oversee records maintenance for insurance coverages, 401k, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, termination, and other employee related records 
  • Assists with Safety program management and investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget for areas of responsibility and monitors expenditures of funds 
  • Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations 
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism, tardiness, and turnover 
  • Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • PHR Certification required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR Manager
  • Experience in managing human resources in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Experience with HR systems including HRIS, Payroll and Timekeeping
