Hours: M-F, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

 

Job Duties:

  • Oversees a wide range of tasks related to finance and accounting, operations, contract negotiation, risk management, administration, purchasing and materials management and maintenance of corporate files and records
  • Oversees day to day financial operations: accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant reimbursement and cash receipts processes, ensures compliance and establishes internal controls and methods of fiscal accountability 
  • Maintains organization corporate and fiscal records (including trust agreements and contracts) according to organization policy and funding requirements, maintains all internal and external reporting and financial statements.  Analyzes statements to provide timely decision making to board and staff.
  • Manages banking relationship and accounts, performs bank reconciliations in a timely manner according to organization policy, reconciles balance sheet accounts according to organization policy, oversees maintenance of fixed asset, depreciation and prepaid expense schedules, monitors aging including payments and documentation
  • Oversees funding contract negotiations and provides ongoing oversight of grant and contract management, ensuring contract compliance and timely reporting. 
  • Prepares and presents the annual budget and subsequent modifications and transfers to the Finance Committee, Board of Directors and funders within established deadlines
  • Coordinates annual audit and all monitoring required by funders. Ensures that audit preparation is completed in a timely and accurate manner and that all financial audit issues are addressed satisfactorily
  • Provides recommendations to improve: financial strength, workflow, productivity, staff turnover, customer service, overall organizational success
  • Maintains the GL, AP, AR, fixed assets
  • Oversees property and equipment maintenance including: services, insurance, security systems, vehicles and equipment, office supplies/furnishing, property, legal support, etc. 
  • Serves as staff liaison to the Board Finance Committee  and Foundation in order to keep Board of Directors/Trustees apprised of the organization’s financial situation
  • Assist with harassment and discrimination complaints in compliance with company requirements
  • Hire, evaluate, manage, discipline, and mentor a small team of approximately 3-6 associates
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting and (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing a medium finance department 
    Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirement may be substituted 
  • Previous CFO or Controller experience required
  • Proven experience with strategy and community engagement required 
  • CPA highly preferred
  • MS Excel, MS PowerPoint: Ability to pull together and present information in a useful and easy to understand format targeted to the specific audience
  • Driver's License: Must have the ability to driver personal or company vehicles
  • Experienced with contracts, managing investments, debt administration
