Great Questions to Ask in an Interview

Wednesday, August 03, 2011. Posted in How-To Tips

In any interview, it’s always best practice to come prepared to ask several thoughtful questions of your interviewer.   This week, I came across this blog article on HBR.org where authors Maryanne Peabody and Larry Stybel pose several great questions to ask in an interview.   While I think this article was intended for those interviewing for manager/leadership positions, I still think the questions are relevant for just about any position.

Anytime a new person is hired, the hiring manager is always hoping for some improvement or change to be brought about by the new hire.   These questions get to the heart of change within your potential role and will help you position yourself and your strengths to be the one who may bring about the improvements they seek.   Pay close attention to their follow-up strategy.   Again, more great advice which can be applied to just about any position.   This kind of follow-up is rare and really makes you stand out as a solid candidate.

Click here for the article from HBR.org.

Enjoy!
